So I finally purchased one of these to find out what all the rave was about. These did sound ok in the retail stores, but was not impressed. I wanted weatherproof speaker to take to the park, beach, or just outdoors in general. The other reviewers are correct about the clarity and loudness, whinch I was impressed with. The highs and mids perform well, but the bass is lacking unless you really turn up the volume, which is not very practical for a small room. But for loud outdoor listening, it works well. This speaker reminds me of the Flip2, but with two passive radiators for more bass. Some review sites say that the bass is nonexistent while others say that the bass is good. There must be different batches and i must have gotten the one with little bass.Update 12/22/15:I used the speaker for the tv via aux and had it on full power due to the lack of volume. Listening to some music afterwards, I noticed the bass coming alive a little. I guess it needs some "breaking-in". The speakerphone works loud and clear on both ends. The sound is a bit more satisfying now. Although not as rich and smooth as my Creative Roar, it is much more versatile and gets very loud. I give it a 4.5.
