Great little tablet for the money (bought new for $97 in early 2017).Context: I bought two of these for our kids to use (rather than have them destroy $400 iPads/galaxy tablets). Compare this product to Plus: Size of an Apple Tablet but a fraction of the price. The screen size is very close to a full-size sheet of paper in tablet mode. This is handy for musicians playing sheet music, and people composing letters. Screen resolution is no match for Apple but its adequate. I prefer the Maven pro to this model but it's okay for a basic chromebook, especially if used by an older person or child, because of the extra screen real estate. In tablet mode, it's really just a huge version of an Android cell phone. The screen size makes this a good choice for use in a DIY teleprompter setup. This is not a super high performance machine but does an economical job for web surfing, doing basic office work, etc. on a budget. It's light and travels well; the pull-apart/snap together keyboard works well. If you lose the AC power transformer, you can power it thru the USB port with the same charger used for phones. The internal memory is scant but a micro SD card can be slipped in to store more things. It comes with a basic set of apps analogous to MS office, and of course there's freeware like Libre Office you can add if you need more bells and whistles. A Chromebook is easy to manage in that, if it gets messed up, you can re-set it to factory and wipe everything off of it with a simple command. This is a good platform to bring to Grandma's house and set up for viewing photos and video chatting with distant relatives.Minus: though I set the display to auto-rotate between landscape and portrait mode, the icons in landscape mode refuse to re-orient. A minor annoyance. In tablet mode, rotation works as it should. Audio speaker is anemic for videos, but then again you'll probably wear headphones. Cameras front and back are adequate in good light.I've had this product for just about 11 months now and the following comments are my pros and cons:Pros: I was really happy to have a computer device that's very much on the lightweight side. A big touch screen. Detachable keyboard. It worked well when connected to external devices such as multimedia projectors, Smart Tvs, Audio Sound systems, I would sometimes connect it to my computer to transfer files directly to the device storage. Most apps I downloaded on it worked fantastically! The bluetooth feature worked well also. The battery power usually lasted me about 4 hours max. I choose this item based on the number of ports it had which is a huge plus for a multi-tasks-er such as I am.I do presentations for kids 12 and under. You have the options of using a USB, HDMI, Micro USB, MicroSD Slot, 1/4 headphone jack...You just can't go wrong with all those options...I had a 32gb memory card and it worked well. This device is very much versatile and I appreciated each one of those features. It came with it's own charging adapter but you can also use the micro USB port to charge it if you forgot to take along the original charger.ConsThe screen resolution, to me, it is not a good one...most times I would have to keep it at a 90 degree angle for best viewing option and I will still see background images showing up on the screen. The speaker volume is not very loud..most times I had to use headphones or external speakers. The camera quality is very low and limited options for adjusting the settings. Whenever I video chatted...my images would often look very blurry. When the battery power got to 20% I would recharge it by leaving the power on, switching off background apps and connections. The battery took about 4 -5 hrs to fully recharge and you cannot have the keyboard attached to it while charging. That's too long of a time...but I humbly obeyed. After about 6 months of usage (maximum 3- 5 hrs per day) the tablet no longer recognises the keyboard...I researched quite a number of sites for solutions and those so called "remedies" that were suggested has not worked for me at all and though I continued using the tablet without the original keyboard...it worked fine but it drastically slowed my working progress, not to mention the reduction in the screen to accommodate the floating keyboard.4 1\2 months after the keyboard issue....The straw that broke the camel's back...I came from work a couple nights ago and I had used the tablet to complete my assignments. I did so until the power was very low...I had a deadline to meet so I plugged in the power cord and worked through till the midnight hour. Upon checking the battery power it was still under 20%. I didn't want to leave the tablet charging and go to bed so, for safety purposes, I unplugged it and went to bed. Just before leaving for the office in the morning..I grabbed the tablet knowing that my presentation was on it..to my surprise...it didn't power on for that day. I've tried so many "solutions" and done a lot of research on troubleshooting found on RCA website but up to now.. I am yet to see the desired results. ..it has come on..but it's been stuck on the RCA or Galileo Pro welcome page for the past few days...sighments!What sort of pains me with this item is this... before I purchased it..I read a lot of reviews and took the necessary precautions to ensure it was protected and used according to the specified instructions...I got the screen protectors, the case...cleaning cloth...it's never taken a fall or used for very long period of time or so often to say that it justifies the trouble I am now receiving.I would recommend this item for one of the best in versatility...but after the trouble I'm currently experiencing...I'll not recommend it!
