The keyboard sounds very nice. It's pretty good for the price range of around $100 (which is what I bought it for, and I'm not sure I'd pay more), but it should be noted that yes, it's all white backlighting only. The keys are easy to get used to if you can touch type. It took me only one day to adjust with minimal errors in my typing (mine is around 120 wpm). The funky feeling of convex keys are pretty fun to touch though; rather unique. The CoolKiller Balloon 84 has a driver that allows you to map the keys to different functions as well as offers three other light modes that aren't available without the driver. Just go to coolkiller.net/download to get it. The keyboard backlight can be turned off with Fn+Enter when it is wired and when it is Bluetooth, and there are many different light modes to play with without the driver if you don't want to get it. To switch between light modes, just use Fn+\ buttons. I like my own user profile light mode (you can create your own mapping of what you prefer to keep lit/off) as well as the music modes, where the lights react to music playing (need driver for this). It's super fun to play with, and satisfying even though the only color is white. It feels and looks clean...but the keys do catch a lot of cat hair, lint, and bits of dirt super easily though, so please be aware of that. I was already shooting mine with my compressed air duster on the first day I got it. On the driver system you can also adjust the time it takes for the keyboard to go to sleep or turn off, and same thing with the backlight.On the slight negatives, I think having to look at external websites or pdfs repeatedly to review the manual is a bit annoying, because this keyboard comes with nothing instructional. No manual, no instructions, but they're easy to find online, and that's my only big gripe. Why is it only online and not physically in my hands or in the box? I put my keyboard in Win mode, and then was very confused when I pressed f12 and didn't get louder volume but instead, a calculator popped up. The icons on the keyboard do not match up with a Windows computer system; someone in a different review said they're Mac icons? But that's where a manual would have come in handy lol. But to cut half of my frustration, I mapped all the keys in the F bar to match the icons they represent, so thankfully now most of my functions match the icons and the only things I have to remember are hotkeys. Fn+Back is the battery query, for example, and Fn+1/2/3 are bluetooth connectivity buttons. The keys are very nice and slick and make a consistent, light thocky noise. I plan on getting the tactile version later, because I couldn't choose between the two and I think I'd like it just as well. I did put tape inside the spacebar because I hate a hollow spacebar, but I don't entirely think it was necessary and it does mess a tad bit with the visual of the light seeping through (don't care, still did it anyway, plus I used white tape to minimize the appearance of tape inside it). Spacebar was easy to remove and replace. I think as far as a keyboard goes, this is pretty nice if you know what you want. It lets you map your own keys, adjust your own backlit keys, dim/brighten, etc. It sounds smooth, a bit on the quiet side imo, and feels good and unique. The keyboard is also very thin and not too heavy. It has weight but nothing like a Kiiboom or Lofree Dot. It's as small as my epomaker minicat 64. Hope this helps!
